About
Who Is Jacques Wijtman?
Jacques Wijtman is a South African mental health advocate, speaker, podcast host and recovering gambling addict with more than seven years of sobriety. What he talks about is not theory. He lived it, and he is willing to say out loud what most people in recovery keep private.
Through his own journey, Jacques has committed himself to helping young people understand addiction, emotional resilience, mental health and the pressures they are carrying. He speaks plainly about how an addiction starts, how quickly it escalates, and what it costs a person long after the money is gone.
Beyond the stage, Jacques hosts The Endure Edge Podcast, sitting down with athletes, entrepreneurs, mental health professionals and people who have come through real adversity. Every Monday evening he brings that same honesty to radio, hosting The Monday Thrive on 91.9FM, two hours built around resilience and conversation.

Before the Damage Is Done
By the time a family knows there is a problem, a lot of damage has already been done to that young person’s finances, their relationships and their sense of who they are.
Jacques would rather stand in front of a hall of 17 year olds and be honest with them while it is still a choice. His talks are built to educate learners before harmful habits set in, and to make it normal to ask for help.
